About

I'm Chirag Singhal. This is my test kitchen — where recipes get cooked on an ordinary weeknight until the quantities and the steps are right, then written down. It's part of the oriz family of sites.

What gets posted here

Recipes I actually cook: Indian home food (dals, rice, everyday sabzis) and global weeknight staples. Every one is tested, written with metric and cup measures, and includes the substitutions I reach for when the pantry is short. No life story before the ingredient list.

How the recipes are written

Ingredients first, in the order you use them. Numbered steps that are genuinely sequential. A short what actually matters note on each one — the single technique that decides whether the dish works. If a step is skippable, it says so.

The oriz family

oriz is the umbrella for everything I publish — a family of static sites that share a sign-in, a design system, and a single principle: useful, free, and quiet. No newsletters you didn't ask for. No popups. No paid tier.
